I heard this movie was terrible, so my expectations were low. It wasn't great by any means, but it wasn't horrific.
I think they might have had more success if they had made it more family friendly. As it is, they have a lot of violence, gore, and F bombs mixed in with very cartoony witches. The very uncomplicated plot and silly coincidences probably helped it get slammed by critics.
It was entertaining enough that I'll check out the second one that IMDB says is being made, IF they get the main stars back.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters - Yay Netflix!
My favorite aspect of the movie is that it supposedly takes place in Bavaria in the 1700's (or so), but my favorite line from the film is, "Touch that fucking gun and I'll blow your brains out all over these fucking hillbillies."
Or something like that.
They speak like modern-day Americans in 1700's europe.
