TV: Lost - Season 1 - SPOILER (Season 1)
The latest diary entry. (Day 42) It looks like Walt's dog won't be going on the raft. I forgot about the dog, so I never considered Walt having to leave the dog behind. Walt may be closer to that dog than he is with his father.
Since it was day 42 (the special numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42), I decided to look at the entries for the rest of the special days.
Nothing. In fact, there wasn't even an entry on day 15.
Day 23 - Diary-person starts training, and hears whispers in the jungle.
Night 16 - Hurley collects names.
Day 15 - No entry.
Day/Night 8 - Michael & Jin fight, some people move into jungle.
Day/Night 4 - Batteries collected for Sayid. Injured man is screaming.

I hate not knowing a show is going to be good and then not watching it and it turns out to be good.
The DVD will hit before the new season begins. You'll have time to catch up before season 2 starts. Actually, if you searched the web or knew someone who "knows where to go", I'm sure the entire first season of Lost is available out there.
Must see:
Family Guy
Scrubs
The Shield
South Park
Usually see:
The Apprentice
Survivor
Iron Chef
Arrested Development
The Office
Amazing Race
So Paul, if Shannon's valuable, who dies? I can't think of a main characer whose storylines are wrapped up enough to kill without leaving some loose ends.
P.S.
Speaking of Scrubs, where was the funny this week?
I thought the last three weeks sucked. Lately the episodes seem forced. I think what we're seeing is the network's hands in things. I've also noticed a lot of the jokes went from subtle to over the top and the show has moved to a much less realistic style. I've also noticed JD's "fantasy cutscenes" have really been reduced in number.
I'm thinking the network forced the show's creator to make some changes that they believe would increase ratings. I believe they've also made some changes in writers (this is pure speculation).
If nobody has left the writing team, then its simply burnout.

What a swing and a whiff, heh. Here's my theory:
It's not a stretch to assume that the island is volcanic. Strange "black rock" with magnetic and other odd characteristics has bubbled up from deep inside the earth.
Due to the "Bermuda Triangle nature" or "EMP effect" of this black rock substance, it screws up electronics, compasses, and possibly gravity. This can cause anybody in the area to be drawn to it and crash. If it affects gravity, it'd affect the tides as well, which would even screw with non-iron boats. The tide would suck out any wreckage on the beach (like it did the plane), and the jungle would hide any wreckage inland.
Another effect of the black rock could be that it makes animals/people stonger. This would make Ethan super stong, and allow Charlie to come back from the dead.
(Just watched the end of season 1 tonight, for the first time.)
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
I was wrong about the identit of the Black Rock, but the magnetic stuff still stands.
I also though there'd be several people in a lab down that hatch. And that those people would be the whispers.
I was right about it being a lab, but wrong about the identity of the people.
Now I'm pretty sure the whispers are from the psychic lab.
