TV: Lost - Season 1 - SPOILER (Season 1)
Does anyone watch this show?
I started watching it as I heard its a Sci-Fi series and so far its pretty good.
I just heard someone is dying before the end of this season. Its going to be Jack (the doctor), Charlie (the rock star/heroin addict), Locke (the hunter and coolest character on the show), or Boone (the whiny rich boy, who happens to be whining in real life about no being in enough scenes).
Guess who I want to die.
Anyway, an interesting tidbit: Jack was originally meant to die in the first episode.

Lost is probably my favorite show on TV at the moment.
I didn't know that Jack was supposed to die. I thought the first show was the trailer.
__
One thing I thought was interesting. Several weeks ago (when they were filming Hurley's episode), Jimmy Kimmel went to the set of Lost and did interviews with people. When he talked with Matthew Fox he asked him about his character's mysterious facial hair. Without shaving, he managed to keep his stubble at the same length for weeks. Was it a mystery of the island?
Fox agreed that Jack's facial hair was indeed one of the island's mysteries.
Well, add a week for that to make the script, add a few weeks of production, and last week's episode would have been the first show affected by that comment. And what do we see for the first time? Jack shaving!

They've repeated just about every episode.
All the characters are connected in some way. Hurley owned the box company that Locke worked at. Hurley was also TV when Jin beat the crap out of that guy. Sawyer had a the heart-to-heart talk with Jack's father that Jack never had. There was other stuff too, that I can't remember.
Oh.. and they all seem to have taken the same flight from Australia! How's that for coincidence.
A lot of the characters seem to be fatherless as well (yeah, Walt is excluded, but he had major father issues early on).
I've heard rumor that Lost might tie into Alias in some way. Perhaps Rombaldi (sp?) had something to do with it?

It also looks like there will be a new character, "Mr. Artz," played by Daniel Roebuck in the last three episodes of the season.

There's buzz over at camp Lost that there's going to be an episode from the perspective of the dog, Vincent! And it's actually very relevant, because we see what happened in the cargo hold.

The most concise list of Lost spoilers I could find.
Spoilerfix
Nothing is super specific or mind blowing. For example, someone important will die when the baby is born, but these spoilers only eliminate some character(s) by name, and others by gender.
The person who dies, dies because a (named) character betrays them.
Also, someone be being poisoned. Who, by whom, or why isn't mentioned. Anybody have an idea on this? I can only think of a few people with knowledge of poisons, though I guess *anybody* could do it if they found some poison.

For those who want to jump onto this very good show:
Paul, I know who dies, and who's doing the poisoning.
Remember the movie Clue? This show seems a bit like that in each character is tied to the next and thus they all have motivations outside of just surviving the island.
The only thing that worries me about the show is that they should have a set number of years in mind with an ending in mind. Otherwise, I know the series finale will be thrown together and won't be a good payoff.
Special: Lost: The Journey
Airdate: April 27, 2005
03/19 - ABC will air a one-hour "introductory guide" to Lost. The special is designed to help new viewers catch up on the series' sometimes dense mythology as well as act as a refresher course for regular fans. The "Lost" special, set to air on Wednesday, April 27 at 8:00/7:00c (the show's regular time period), will focus on the characters of Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate (Evangeline Lilly), Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) and retell their respective backstories in a linear fashion. It's unclear however how the clips will be introduced and if the hour will include any "behind-the-scenes"-type footage. Source: TheFutonCritic

SPOILERS
The only spoiler I remember seeing about the poisoning was that Locke wasn't being poisoned.
As for the dead character, my guess is that it's Sawyer.. Here are the clues I gleaned about the death from the spoiler site. While a clue says "boy", another says "sexy," so it's probably not Walt (Sawyer is my guess). I guess if Boone dies, that could work, though I don't care about Boone and don't think many would find him sexy.
The soon to be dead person will bite the big one before the season finale in May.
Another clue to who dies: He's kinda sexy. I'm told [the death] will be the finale.
When the BIG castmember dies off, Claire's baby will be born .... And Jack will NOT be the one to deliver it.
The ultimate reason for the death will be the ultimate betrayal from someone he believes to be his trusted ally.
It's a boy who dies. Basically, something catastrophic happens, and because someone LIES about what happened, ultimately, they are unable to be saved.
Locke is responsible for the character's death...but not in the way you think, this person dies because of something Locke has done.
Tv Guide - The soon-to-be-whacked castaway will be back next season in one form or another. And the actor/actress behind said castaway took the news of his/her character's passing badly. Very badly.
Matthew Fox confirmed that Jack does not die. He has says the death will lead to a divide with the island survivers.
The one who'll die is not Jack, nor Hurley, nor the dog.
Charlie is not the one who will die. It is one of the fourteen series regulars -– one of the BIGGEST characters.

Read this chain again without using the spoiler site and you should be able to figure out who dies. Its who I figured would for obvious reasons.
Then again, we're still assuming.
As for the poisoning, I think its a certain person, but I don't know why or who the victim would be.

The most likely person to be poisoned is Sawyer. Maybe that's what's screwing up his vision and giving him headaches.
Why Sawyer? Because if you wanted to kill somebody to take his position on the raft, he's the one who'd let your conscious off easy.
Or perhaps someone doesn't want him on the raft? I don't trust Walt. He kills birds with his mind and burns down rafts.

Lost - The Complete First Season will be on sale at Amazon in September for nearly $40. That's sort of a long wait. Won't the next season be starting around then? (I'm secretly plugging my my Amazon Associates account).
You said it'd be either Jack, Hurley, Charlie, Locke, or Boone.
Hurley wasn't in my list. Hope that doesn't screw up your calculations.

No, the headaches were explained in the last episode. He needed glasses for his far sightedness.
As for the poisoning, maybe Boone is being poisoned? Sayid could be doing it to eliminate him, not likely I know. Or Boone's "sister" could be doing it to rid herself of him once and for all? It would make sense if Jack isn't able to help him tonight...

Yep, I had it figured out.
The upcoming scenes look interesting. Sayid shooting Locke? Since we know that only the one major character is dying this year, I'm already trying to figure out the "twist" in that clip.
They also made it look like Kate was poisoning Jack and Sawyer finds out. Of course, I could just be reading into what I saw.
Remember the prophecy on that baby?
How many other networks do you think are working on their own "Lost"?

Well, Hurley wasn't on your list, but he was on my spoiler will-not-die list. Everyone but Boone was.
When I told my wife that someone would die, she said, "I hope it's Boone!" I agreed with her.
My wife said that was interesting too. However, I promptly told her, "No. Sayid points a gun at Locke. Someone shoots a gun. Locke drops to the ground." The three shots aren't necessarily in directly related to each other.
There are plenty of funs on the island. My guess is that Kate or Jack fires a warning shot, and Locke simply dives for cover.
I had that impression too, but I forgot what the scene was.
Really, I thought that Boone would die and the baby would be born next week. I figured they'd milk it out a bit longer. I guess they have a lot of stuff they want to get though though.
As for the prophecy about the baby. I just remember that there would be "terrible consequences" if anybody other than Claire raised it. I don't remember if it was somethng terrible for the kid, or terrible for the world.
Maybe all the potential anti-Christs got sent to the island (Walt and Claire's baby). It'd be sort of like Stephen King's The Stand. Good and bad people are put into play against each other.

Claire's Baby
Claire got pregnant despite being on the pill.
In her dream, Lock had a solid black eye (or was it both eyes?). Locke looked sadened and said, "He was your responsibility, but you gave him away, Claire. Everyone pays the price now."
Her psychic mentioned the time 11:15 a couple times, though that doesn't play into 4,8,15,16,23,42.

The commercial ABC is playing about lost says that the two hour episode will explain some things. Oddly enough, the commercial shows scense from last week's episode.
It shows Sawyer telling Kate, "I know what you did." (Poison?)
It had the audio clip of the person on the other end of the radio saying, "There were no survivors of flight 815."
But checking ABC's schedule, Wednesday is a repeat:

"Special"
Violence ensues and a mysterious island beast makes a re-appearance when Michael and Locke clash over Walt's upbringing. Meanwhile, Charlie is tempted to read the missing Claire's diary, and Sayid enlists Shannon to help decipher the French woman's map.
I found this on the ABC site:
http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/diary1.html
It's a diary. I think it's Michael's diary, because from what I've read it mentions just about every other likely suspect. Or maybe Sayid. I don't remember his name, and he might be a more likely canidate. I'll have to read more to figure it out.
And later, while waiting on the beach as Boone died...

Day 36-
I think they must have found something out there. Yesterday, when I was following them it looked like he and Boone were arguing - - probably something to do with that thing way out in the jungle. And then today I heard that Boone had suffered some soft of an accident. Yeah, I know how dangerous "accidents" can be. And so does a certain soemone who lives back in Louisianna. Or who used to anyway...
And later, while waiting on the beach as Boone died...
I opened my dive bag and made sure my kit was ready. Something about the cold steel in my hands makes me feel better.
