They're playing a show with two other random metal bands (I assume). At a tiny-ass joint (1000 or less, easy) on Nov. 30th. Right next to the biker bar. Thinking about going.

Oh snap, I better see where else they are playing. I last saw them with 500 of my closest friends in Toronto.

Shit, in 4 days they'll be in Royal Oak, Michigan...

If there are any prog peeps down south, they are playing Raleigh, soon.

Tell me is the singer can yet hit the high notes that are on the albums. When I've seen them he just yells those parts.

Hell of a show. Was no more than twenty feet from the stage the entire time. Fairly small venue. As for the high notes ... nope. Not really, anyhow. There were times when he wasn't just yelling loudly, but the pitch wasn't pure enough for me to consider it equivalent to the album.

That being said ...

Sting can't sing "Roxanne" anymore. Brian Johnson looked damn near ready to die last time I saw him do "Back in Black." And everything sounds better in a studio with a few professional audio engineers, separate tracks for everything, and infinity takes you can stitch together to make every last note sound perfect.

When I bought my first BG album I actually thought they had 2 different singers, one guy hitting the high notes and one guy doing the yelling. Nope.

The first opening band wasn't bad, either. The second one looked like a confused mix of the lamest elements of Judas Priest and Motley Crue.

I discovered Leaves' Eyes when they opened for BG. I think LE might be better. LE was definitely better in concert.
