Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade play some guys who form a neighborhood watch when there is a local murder. Turns out the murderer was an alien, and now the neighborhood watch needs to deal with it because the local cops are dicks.
There's too much talking about feelings, and not enough laughs.
There are, however, a couple boobies, so not a complete loss.
The Watch
Yeah, by no means a classic.
Pretty much Stiller, Vaughn, and Hill doing their typical bits, but with aliens.
There are some definite laughs, and some very good quotes:
"Why do their dicks keep exploding!?"
"The ball sucking thing was a real eye opener."
However, they're wrapped up in an oddly paced package. I think Stiller's character, and his subplot, was the one thing that felt completely out of place. I think he was playing it too straight.
Also, this movie was apparently funded by Costco because it's one giant ad for them.
Worth a viewing when it's free on Netflix.
