The Raid: Redemption

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

The Raid: Redemption

Gets a director.

The Raid is going to be an American remake of a popular series of films in Asia.

I reviewed The Raid 2 here in another thread, I believe posted a trailer for part 3(?), and discussed these movies in the Dredd thread as that movie had the same story line.

Per the article, they might try to get the Hemsworth brothers involved. That could be interesting. I'd be very curious to see what roles they put them in.

The Raid: Redemption

So I thought I had reviewed this, and I think I did (But I'm pretty sure I thought it was The Raid 2...), but can't find any other threads relating to this movie with "Raid" in them. (The two posts above are merged.)

Just watched it again this weekend, so I'll review it again.

The Raid: Redemption is an Indonesian film about a SWAT team that goes into an apartment building run by a crime warlord. He's on the top floor and their job is to grab him and go. Once it's discovered they're there, the whole building hunts them. Meanwhile, the cops discover the real reason they're there.

Yes, it's the same plot as Dredd, which came out a year later. This is far more violent.

Fantastic action. The fight scenes are like Jackie Chan movies, but again, more violent.

I recommend it.

I can't wait for the American remake of this and people saying, "They just ripped off Dredd!"
