Believe it or not, the buzz on this one is actually good. Of course, after the first one, they couldn't go anywhere but up.

"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
This was on TV the other night. The villain (Blackout in appearance only) is a step up from the first installment and there's lot of carnage, but it's all PG-13 animation. The old dude playing the devil looks like a random guy they snatched from an retirement home. Nic Cage spends the film getting outperformed by a CGI skeleton in a burnt leather jacket. When he is on camera, his motivation seems to be, "I've consumed lots of coke and mescaline a few minutes ago." Christopher Lambert is completely pissed away and you can't help but think he and the old dude playing the devil should have switched roles.
Fuck this movie. It makes the first one look deep.
