I also thought The Village was given too much hatred.

I too liked The Village. I wasn't living near Leisher at the time I saw it, so I didn't have it spoiled for me. I just thought there was some funky old-timey fantasy thing happening. I actually thought there would be aliens on the other side of the wall.
