In this "original" SyFy series, a man puts together a team of humans who might be the next step in evolution to help track down others like them.
By episode 2 it also becomes apparent that the world hates and fears them...
Sound familiar? "Charles Xavier puts together a group of mutants to protect a world that hates and fears them from other mutants."
That's right, Alphas is the X-Men.
The team currently consists of:
Dr. Rosenbaum (or something like that) - a normal human and a shrink.
Hicks - Think Bullseye, Daredevil's nemesis, only as a good guy and with a LOT less control.
Bill - Super strong
Brunette Chick #1 - Can manipulate a person via her eyes.
Brunette Chick #2 - Can use her senses to see things normal people can't. She's like a human bloodhound.
Rain man like kid - Can see electronic signals and read them.
3 episodes in and I'm obviously having trouble with the names, but the show itself isn't horrible, but it isn't must see yet either.
There seems to be an overall storyline presenting itself as well in the form of Binghamton, a place where they send Alphas that can't control their powers or are bad guys. As you might expect, things there might not be on the up and up.
Anyway, I'll keep anyone interesting on how the series progresses and if it's worth watching.
Alphas
Just finished season two, and it was pretty improved over season 1. They upped the Alphas, the body count, the good episodes, the villains, etc.
This is still a complete rip off of the X-Men, but they're doing it well enough that I don't mind. And I should note this I mean COMPLETE. They even have the whole Prof X/Magneto dynamic.
This series isn't going to set the world on fire, but I think most of the folks who frequent this forum will enjoy it.
