I would definitely put this in the "didn't suck" category.
It was kind of dumb that the chick with the dragonfly wings and the dragon-fire breath called herself "Angel," and her fight scene was a little lame what with all the flitting around, but the rest of it wasn't bad.
Oh also Magneto uses the telepath-blocking helmet in this movie, which takes place in 1962, but then in the first X-Men movie Charles seems surprised that Magneto can block his telepathic abilities. So whatever.
X-Men: First Class
Lots of little flaws in the plot going forward to the next film, which was actually the first of the four...
Still, it was a decent flick. I recommend it to anyone who likes the super hero genre. All others need not apply.
The chick with the fairy wings, she doesn't exist in the comics. She's a takeoff of a character named Pixie. Why they named her Angel, who already exists in the film canon, and not Pixie, I have no idea.
By the way, the sequel is going to be set in the "Days of Future Past" storyline, which should be very interesting. It's a world where most of the mutants have been hunted down and killed by Sentinels.
