Moneyball

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Brad Pitt plays Billy Beane, the GM of the Oakland As. This is a true story and follows Billy's attempts at making Oakland a winner despite having a payroll that's about $100 million less than the New York Yankees. He meets a guy played by Jonah Hill who looks at stats rather than the players. This is different than the method used in baseball since it was invented. Obviously, this ruffles feathers...

First warning: This movie is loooooooooooooong. What makes it worse is that there isn't a single action scene or tit. However, the whole thing is compelling. Hill and Pitt are excellent in their roles.

Second warning: If you don't like sports, it's going to be even more boring.

It's a really good story with great acting and all that, but the story is a bit...pointless? I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just that a movie about Ghandi will have an obvious beginning, middle, and end. A movie about Billy Beane, not so much.

Still, it's a good film that's worth seeing.
