That's My Boy - controversy

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

This is an Adam Sandler comedy about a 13 year old boy seduced by a school teacher, which results in a pregnancy.

The article explains the controversy.

What do you think?

I think that it's entirely possible for a 13-year-old boy who gets to boink his teacher to be traumatized, and we should be sensitive to that possibility whenever such a case arises.

However, it's far more likely that what he'll want is a high-five.

Do I think it's okay to assume all such boys would be okay? Of course not. But it's just as stupidly absurd to assume that all such boys will be traumatized. If I had to make a best guess as to the ratio, I'd say 1/4 will be traumatized and 3/4 will be just fine.

Girls are different, of course, partly due to psychology and partly due to the sexual act being more ... invasive and personal for girls. Flip those ratios for my best guess as to how the girls take it.
