As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I'm leeching off a rather unstable wireless conn at the moment, so I'll go over a few flicks I've seen whilst here.

Hannibal Rising : Somewhere between Hannibal and Red Dragon. Unfortunately, closer to former. Graphic violence does not substitute for average film-making abilities and some serious fucking question marks as to character's motivations and inconsistent actions.

Smoking Aces : This film should be in the dictionary next to the word "disappointing." Was it crap? No. But it falls flat on its balls at about every point when it needs to shine. Every now & then, a flick comes along & tries to be the next "Snatch." 99.9% of the time, they fail miserably.

Hot Fuzz : From the dudes that brought you Shaun of the Dead. Fucking hilarious. Certainly the best flick I've seen in a cinema in some months. W\ a solid supporting cast of washed-up actors, like Timothy Dalton, Edward Woodward (The Equalizer, Wicker Man [original]), Paul Freeman (Raiders of the Lost Ark), and some brutal satire on Hollywood action/cop flicks, this fucker avoids the sophomore slump for Pegg & Frost.
Diogenes of Sinope: "It is not that I am mad, it is only that my head is different from yours."
Arnold Judas Rimmer, BSC, SSC: "Better dead than smeg."

I liked Hannibal Rising. It is a good origin story, it makes sense in showing how he became what he became, and, in my opinion, it manages to make you sympathetic to a cannibal.
