Chaos

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Jason Statham is a disgraced cop who gets dragged into a hostage standoff orchestrated by Wesley Snipes. He also is being babysat by Ryan Phillipe who plays a gung ho rookie who just doesn't let things go.

Not a bad film, but nothing too memorable either. This isn't an all out action film like most of Statham and Snipes' stuff. This is more of a crime movie with the typical Hollywood twists. Of course, like most twists you'll probably see it coming. This one, in particular, is pretty obvious early on, but it doesn't hurt the movie that much outside of you thinking "Drop the other shoe already."

The performances are ok. Ryan Phillipe actually has the best performance, but his character should in this story. Statham is Statham, which means he gets the best lines. Meanwhile, Snipes seems almost like an afterthought. That's not to say his role is small, just that the nature of the story means you don't get to know him too well in the first half of the movie.

There are a few plot holes, but none that should bring your enjoyment to a screeching halt.

Not much more to say about it to be honest. If you never see this movie, you're missing nothing. However, if you rent it, you won't regret renting it. I'd recommend it once it hits the dollar rack or cable.

5 out of 10.
