Hotel Rwanda

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Don Cheadle does Rwanda version of Schindler's List.

Fun fact learned from watching this movie: It was the Hutu slaughtering the Tutsis. What's the difference? They were arbitrary labels handed out to the population when the Belgians ran the place a generation before. No difference whatsoever. But the Star Bellied Sneetches decided the Plan Bellies had been running the place long enough and the machetes were imported from China.

Will also make you hate the United Nations more than you did at the end of Black Hawk Down.

The 90's we're a glorius decade for doing nothing to stop atrocities in Africa. The 2000's have been the same. Have we lost the stomach to stop this shit, or did we truly never have it?

Shit, that place is like the Middle East in that we'd need to go in guns a-blazin' to rip out certain self-serving dictators. That was a place that got dicked around w\ for years & when all the empires pulled out, they left some serious power vacuums.

The Middle East is bad, but at least you can be relatively sure your kids won't wake up kidnapped into forced service for a guerrilla army or dismembered a few miles outside town.

Well, I wouldn't totally agree with that statement, but you're right that most of the countries in the Middle East are nothing like those parts of Africa.
