Steve Carroll returns as the guy who beat Jim Carrey out for the anchor job in Bruce Almighty. We find that Evan Baxter is leaving the station and the anchor chair and moving to DC because he just won an election to be the new senator.
Of course, after arriving in DC and getting on the good side of a big wig Senator played by John Goodman, he promptly is paid a visit by God (Morgan Freeman having way too much fun in this casual role) which throws his world into chaos.
A very cute film that is family friendly and worth a viewing. Although, I do recommend shutting down the brain for full enjoyment. (There are at least two major "what the fuck?" moments.)
