Jet Li & Jason Statham & it wasn't good enough for a summer release? Does anyone else find that ominous?
EDIT : My mistake, apparently being released at the end of August. But why the end of August & not June or July?

The Blockbuster season runs from Early May until the middle of July.
No way does War belong in that time frame. Jason Statham and Jet Li are not big enough stars here to carry that movie to a good opening against giant robots, spider men, pirates, John McClaine, etc.
August is the "possible hits" month for Hollywood. Movies that might be decent, but wouldn't find an audience in the early summer or movies that probably aren't great, but will attract people because nothing else is out.
Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing it, but I'll wait until it hits DVD in January.
