Wolverine/Sabertooth - MAJOR Spoilers

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Ok, you all know Wolverine, but for those of you who don't know Sabertooth, he was the animal-like guy played by Tyler Mane in X-Men.

Summing up their relationship:
Sabertooth is the Ying to Wolverine's Yang. He's always been a thorn in Wolverine's side. They both went through the Weapon X program, they both have similar powers, although Wolvie has the adamantium (Sabertooth had some for a bit too). Most of the women Wolverine has ever loved died brutally at the hands of Sabertooth. Every year on Wolverine's birthday, Sabertooth tried to kill him.

I don't know that two characters have ever fought more in any form of literature, radio, or film. I damn sure know no two characters have ever done as much damage to one another as these two.

That being said, I stated the timing was interesting on the Wolvie film because Sabertooth and Wolverine are no longer dance partners. In fact, their whole history and relationship has been revealed (and it SUCKED, not in a good way...horrible, horrible writing), something that has never been explained and added to the mystique is gone.

Now all Wolvie fans are speculating on a new foe: Romulus.

Speaking of Maervel, their timing is all fucked up. They're working on a Captain America film despite the fact that Captain America just died earlier this year in the comic.

Perhaps the Wolverine/Sabretooth relationship is currently fucked up, but I'm hoping that they'll consign themselves to getting inspiration from the "glory days" of their incredibly fucked up history.

EDIT : I'm not a fan of what the comics have done w\ Sabretooth, either.

How big a spoiler you want?

Hint: Your paragraph above has some flaws...

My brother used to be a true comics devotee till he got hitched. I don't think there's any spoilers you can toss out of which I'm not at least peripherally aware.

Ok then, MAJOR SPOILER BELOW THIS LINE. If you continue to read, it's your own fault.

You have been warned.

*****************************************
Sabertooth is dead. Dead dead. Wolvie cut his arm and head off. He did it with a "Masura blade". Logan had it forged if he ever lost control, it'd be the only thing that can kill him permanently. The new villain is Romulus who has apparently been pulling the strings behind the scenes in Sabertooth and Logan's life all along. Oh, and Wild Child (the mini-Sabertooth) got a major upgrade.

Hmm, appears I've been out o' the loop for a bit. Ah, well, at least Wild Child's still kicking.

Yep, Sept. 2007. Damn. Weird, too, cos every issue they fought in sold like crack rocks if I remember.
