She added, "Marijuana smokers are not going to attack and kill a cop. They just want to get a bag of chips and relax. Alcohol is a much bigger problem."

The comments are generally supported by drug experts and a vast body of research. Marijuana, with its tame effects on behavior, generally doesn't cause crime. But alcohol does: it's a factor in about 40 percent of violent crimes, according to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
It causes less crime than the cops trying to enforce the bullshit laws.

Since the chief in DC seems to be a sane, rational person, it only stands to reason the rest of the force wants her gone.

Lanier, in a statement issued before the vote was tallied, noted that it was timed to coincide with her mass weekend deployment called All Hands on Deck, in which every available officer is put on the street for 48 hours. The union has long deplored the annual initiative, first launched in 2007, arguing it is disruptive to schedules, doesn’t affect crime and leaves the department short-handed in the middle of the week.
Can't have your schedules being disrupted to affect the crime rate.
Lanier said in her statement. “The All Hands on Deck initiative does work.” She said on average crime drops about 10 percent during the push of officers.
