First of all, we didn't post this, but did anyone see the story about the woman who grabbed the TSA employees breast last week? She was being groped and returned the favor. Now she's being charged with felonious sexual assault. Two people LITERALLY doing the same thing, but one is legal and the other is a felony.

Onto different news, the government has figured out how to make some extra cash out of this TSA nonsense.

Having a fast lane for people with money will in no way piss off the people in the slow lines.

And I assume all elected officials get automatic access to the fast lane.

First off, I didn't think it was even possible for the TSA to make me lose any more respect for them. Unbelievable, they did it. At least I could say, "Well, at least most public officials probably have to suffer through this at least once." They took something that everyone needed to do and which wasn't that bad of a hassle, and then ramped it up to the point where they're betting people will PAY (and go through a background check) to avoid the insane status quo. If only the gov't could turn this sort of deviousness upon our foreign and domestic enemies.

EDIT: Upon further reflection, the U.S. gov't views most of its citizens as domestic enemies.

Asterisk.
The TSA has said that trusted travelers wouldn't be exempt from random screenings, and this spring said expedited screening might not be available on higher-risk flights or if one of the 460,000 watch list passengers is on the same flight.

I say every hacker in the U.S. turns their spambots on the D.C. gov't e-mail list and don't let up until the TSA is disbanded and swept away.

No federal charges.

Sounds like the TSA is going to get theirs, though:

The TSA issued a written statement Tuesday saying that it won't tolerate assaults on its employees.

TSA is going to claim to stop using the "naked scanners" so people will stop attacking them on it, but there will be absolutely no way for the general public to know whether or not they actually stopped using them.

“Our top priority is the safety of the traveling public, and TSA constantly strives to explore and implement new technologies that enhance security and strengthen privacy protections for the traveling public,” TSA Administrator John Pistole said in a statement.

When I hear that, I think this:

New DHS video: white, middle class people are the most likely to be terrorists.

http://www.infowars.com/dhs-vid....rorists

Huh?

In the course of the 10 minute clip, a myriad of different behaviors are characterized as terrorism, including opposing surveillance, using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application.

Oh, I get it.

The things that get TSA agents in trouble.

Formation of the DHS was Bush's biggest mistake.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the DHS’ own internal documents list predominantly white conservative groups as the most likely terrorists, such as Ron Paul supporters, gun owners, gold bullion enthusiasts, and a myriad of other comparatively banal political interests that are largely the domain of white middle class Americans.

Imagine if they had said, "Brown people of arabic descent were most likely to be terrorists."

TSA is getting a <s>$7.85 billion</s> $185 million budget increase. (My bad, 7.85 billion is their entire budget)

http://www.hstoday.us/briefin....69.html

Good thing this country isn't having fiscal problems or that would be infuriating.

A couple days ago there was the story of the screaming 4-year-old girl getting the kiddy rubdown, and I just rolled my eyes and thought, "more of the same."

But today the TSA is defending their actions.

tldr: "Our TSA agents followed proper procedures."

These fucking idiots don't seem to realize that their procedures are exactly what everyone hates. Their proper procedures are invasive, unnecessary, and ineffective. Fuck these guys.

I can believe that.
"This is just another example that threats can appear anywhere, and this is why TSA officers take a closer look at everything,"

Good God. I'm sure dude was planning to rip Mickey open and start assembling that heater.

The items were confiscated and the father and son were allowed to continue their flight to Detroit.

So, the penalty for this "threat" was...you lose your toys and go free?

Yeah, that's how I know this was 100% staged for PR. If it weren't the whole thing would have been toned much differently, and there'd be hinting about the new youngest Gitmo detainee.

Yeah, me too. The toy-thing was all too perfect, and no, no one is going to just walk after that.

I really hope some news agency actually follows up on this, and finds the connection between the guy and the TSA.

As usual you neocons are skewing the facts and making this seem worse than it really is...

This is simply part of Obama's wealth distribution plan.

The TSA hires people without iPads, cash, and other luxuries and they get to look through the stuff of people who do own them. If they see something they like, they get to keep it.

Meanwhile, the people who have their items taken get the satisfaction of knowing that someone less fortunate has their stuff.

Everyone wins!

Seriously though, who is shocked by this? The government is running the TSA. They are hiring people with no skills who can't get jobs elsewhere. They pay shit. They also require their agents to have full access to all of your luggage.

Who didn't see this problem coming?
