... just as crazy as everyone else who wants their respective god to be in charge of things, whether you believe in it or not.

Despite views that Islam should influence politics and law, an overwhelming number of Muslims told Pew that religious freedom was a good thing.

So, people should have religious freedom, as long as they choose to be free to be Muslim.

Interesting to see the difference between American muslims and global muslims. In Afghanistan and Iran and stuff, 96+% think everyone should live under shariah, muslim or not. Only about half of American muslims believe that.

Even half... goddam.

A whopping 99% of Muslims in Afghanistan told Pew that they favor sharia law – a Muslim code that dictates everything from dietary laws to morals – as the official law of the land.

Fucking hell. Dark Ages shit right there.

So, people should have religious freedom, as long as they choose to be free to be Muslim.
“Among Muslims who say people of different religions are very free to practice their faith, three-quarters or more in each country say this is a good thing.”

So, religious freedom, just don't expect to get treated the same in society or political matters? Which was pretty much the Christian attitude centuries ago?

My favourite part is, by far:
Carrying out violent acts in the name of Islam is strongly rejected by Muslims around the world, according to the survey.
...
Despite most country’s [sic ... are there no more proofreaders?] disapproval of violence in the name of Islam, religious extremism – and in particular Muslim extremism – is a concern for a majority of Muslims in the world, according to the survey.
