Now I realize console gaming still has it's place due to ease of use, but aren't consoles essentially horse drawn carriages compared to what the PC (horseless carriage) brings to the table these days?

Consoles still interact with TVs better than the standard laptop or desktop. Specialization facilitates ease of use. Other than that, consoles are retarded PCs. Give it another decade. This maybe the last generation of "consoles" as we know it before a legit media PC comes out.
