Now the Big 14.
Gene Wojciechowski wrote an interesting article along with this news that says the Big 10 may continue expanding to 16. Two programs that he indicated could be very interesting to the Big 10 due to their location and AAU membership? Kansas and North Carolina...
B1G 10
The problem with UNC would be getting them away from Duke. It'd be like if the SEC tried to steal OSU from the Big Ten and Michigan.

They are going to 16. Who it will be I don't know but there were a few legit blogs that said they talked to insiders in the Big 10 when it added nebraska and said the the new logo has a 1 in it so the G can also be seen as 6 for a "cool" two way logo.
Big 12, SEC, Big 10, and Pac 12 are all going to 16 for 4 super conferences.

I'm sort of rooting for Maryland to back out, fuck up the ACC expansion, and pave the way for the Big Ten to correct the bad PR and grab someone with a better sports program than Maryland.
Let's be honest, that lawsuit by the ACC is less about keeping Maryland around, but keeping UNC, Duke, and Florida State from jumping.
By the way, Notre Dame signing that deal with the ACC was a joke. Dropping the Big Ten to play ACC teams? Really? Was the Big East unavailable?
Of course, they're not as bad as the SEC where playing division II schools is considered strong scheduling.

It's not going to stop until there are 4-5 super conferences. I'd prefer we just limit folks to 12, but it won't happen.
