1BR (2019)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

1BR (2019)

Currently on Netflix

A girl (Nicole Brydon Bloom) has a falling out with her father and moves to LA to pursue a dream of being a fashion designer. Upon arriving she finds a job and then finds a place to live. It's a very tight knit community, and she beat out several other applicants for the place. However, things are not as they seem.

This is a psychological thriller.

Bloom has a "girl next door" vibe that is very inviting. She leads a cast that really performs well. In fact, this is simply a very well made movie. You can tell the budget was tight, but it likely made for some good decisions. There's no waste. The pacing is perfect. Every scene has a point and a place within the story.

There are themes that have been seen before, but it's 2020, what hasn't been done to death at this point? The way the story is told is what's important, and it's done correctly here.

Recommended.
