Peppermint (2018)
A normal housewife from a lower middle class home watches her family get gunned down. Then she watches as the justice system kills them again. She flees for 5 years and comes back as Rambo to get the justice she was denied.
The IMDB crowd likes this movie (6.5) more than RT (12%). The truth is somewhere in between.
If you can buy the premise, it's fine. But let's be honest, it's a real stretch. Not that women can't be tough, but could they have given her even a basic military background? Maybe a crossfit lifestyle? Anything? I might have heard a hint of something early on (maybe?), but it wasn't detailed and never brought back up again.
Honestly, it's not awesome, but it's better than 12%. I'd put it squarely in the 50% range. Competently made, but a weak plot.
