Future Man

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Yay Hulu!

Stop me if you've heard this one before...

A guy is super good at a specific video game, but soon discovers it's secretly a recruiting tool. Before you go nuts, they absolutely out themselves and reference that movie. In fact, they reference a LOT of movies and shows.

The Verge hates it, so that's a positive for the show...

This is an extremely adult show. Seth Rogan is behind it, something I was completely unaware of until just now. Sometimes it's groan inducing dumb, sometimes it's brilliant.

There is a moment in a later episode that showcases both. It's dumb, but you'll quickly realize that they're not calling back to a joke from a previous episode. No, they're telling you the setup to a punchline they told you in a previous episode. This is brilliant and hilarious. It's one of the greatest jokes I've ever seen in a scripted comedy. (Not for the humor, but the method.)

That's also the best review I can give you: It's half dumb, half great. There were moments I was bored (and the fact it was originally a movie, then 7 episodes stretched to 13 explains that), but there were also a good amount of laughs.

I can't guarantee you'll like it, but it's worth finding out.

I loved the Last Starfighter as a kid. I haven't watched it since, though.
It's not me, it's someone else.

TLS doesn't hold up, due to.the primitive graphics.

Graphics here are pretty good, or should I say pretty good for our current tech. In 20 years it'll probably be ass.

The Last Starfighter? Space scenes... it's... super primitive. I can't even think of a thing to compare it to. Barely above wireframe.

You guys nailed TLS.

I was talking about the graphics for the game in Future Man. They're solid, but in 20 years will suck.
