Marlon Wayans wakes up in an elevator completely naked. It's his wedding day and the ceremony has already started. The kicker is no matter what he does, he finds himself naked in the elevator again in about an hour.
Funny how nobody ever uses the words "cultural appropriation" when black people make remakes of white movies, but I digress...
Yes, this is Groundhog Day, but not as funny. It doesn't suck and there are some chuckles, but it's far more campy than Groundhog Day. They also don't stick to their rules as well as GD. They limit themselves too much with the hour reset, which means the ending is basically impossible.
There are no jokes at anyone's expense based on racism, which is nice. Buuuuuuuuuuttttttttt, there are two villains, each with their own motive and story, and they just happen to be the two main white characters... You might think "spoilers", but none of you will see this anyway, and you'll figure it out immediately like I did.
Watch Groundhog Day instead of this decent, but inferior ripoff.
