It's basically what happens if all of our scientists and astronauts had the same intelligence level as your average campers at Crystal Lake. But without the sex drive.
The ending is a "Holy Shit, they really think people are fucking idiots" level of bullshit.

Meh... okay for what it was. Not a great movie, but fulfilled its purpose I suppose. I always appreciate getting to say to the wife, "it's the gay cowboy". Though the trailers did give away every plot point as Gordo said, the script itself was so formulaic that I'm not sure it would have much mattered. You either know what's going to happen from the trailers or you know what's going to happen from almost every sci-fi monster movie they've ever made.
