The Big Sick

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, I knew the basics and had seen some of Kamail's work before. But the movie was much funnier and also more touching than I had expected. Went as a date movie with my wife, and we both really enjoyed it. Afterwards we discussed what the fictionalized movie of our meeting would have been like, which was a fun trip down memory lane as we went through our early dating and meeting moments.

I laughed. I cried.

I would recommend it highly as a date movie, but don't read too much of the real story until after the movie.

Best movie I've seen in a long time. But I hope that doesn't raise your expectations too much, after all, I was the guy who really liked Big Fish.

I still love that movie.

Honestly, this movie might be in my top 10 of movies. Shawshank Redemption, Big Fish, The Big Sick... I guess I need to flesh out what the remaining 7 are.

The Big Sick's definitely Romantic Comedy, but it's funny.

Oh yeah I was amused that the movie whats-his-name used to test the girl's taste was The Abominable Dr. Phibes.

I really enjoyed it, but "top ten"? No way.

It was a bit long, and some of the background players were unnecessary for the story. They may have existed in real life, but that doesn't always mean they need to be in the movie.

I would put this in the same realm as Doc Hollywood. a really long romantic comedy with dramatic elements that will hit certain notes for some people.
