Tom Hanks plays the airline pilot who landed that plane on the Hudson that one time.
1. I don't know a thing about the guy, so I have no idea how well Hanks portrayed him.
2. Sully did a lot of second-guessing of his decisions through the movie to the point of losing sleep over it, but in the end he acts like he knew he was right all the time.
2.5. The FAA spends the entire movie trying to SULLY his name. Get it? Get it?
3. Generally a downer movie. That made more sense at the end when I saw Clint Eastwood directed it.

I have heard that the entire movie aside from the actual event that inspired it was a fabrication.
