I think this just goes to show you how out of touch Hollywood is with regular folks. Instead of avoiding a topic that will immediately turn off half your potential audience and a topic that people want to escape, they just HAVE to tell this story.

Well, their ratings are complete shit and nobody gives a fuck about the show anymore, so you're right in that this could be a hail mary attempt to get someone to watch.No way, this is all about ratings.
