The Final Girls

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

The Final Girls

Horror comedy that's more dramedy than horror.

There's no horror at all despite some killing and whatnot. This is a horror kids could watch and sleep well. The comedy is also sparse, but did have me laughing both because there was clever humor and dumb humor. What's shocking is how good it is at telling a really touching story about a mother and daughter's relationship.

Long story short, a girl named Max and her friends are watching Camp Bloodbath and somehow get sucked into the film. There they have to live through the movie with the help of Max's mother who was a star in that film.

This movie really caught me off guard with how good some of the acting is and how they stayed on point with the stories they were telling.

Special mentions for the mother, Malin Akerman, and the daughter, Taissa Farmiga, who were incredible. Their performances carried the film and made it memorable for more than just the premise.

Worth seeing, but be in the mood for this type of film.
