The Intern

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

DeNiro applies as a senior intern at a company founded by Hathaway.

Better than expected.

The humor here is straight and observational about the differences in generations and how far we've come socially and technologically. In no way are things played in a "zany" way and that formula really works here. This is an adult comedy, not The Internship...

Anyway, there's a lot of touchy feely stuff shoved in with the humor. I'd honestly call this a comedy-drama and I only had one major issue with it: There's really no plot. It's just watching this old guy have an effect on this company's young founder and the other young people around him. The filmmakers don't shit on new stuff or old stuff, but rather highlight the positives and negatives of both. I cannot stress enough how fairly balanced this movie is in that regard.

Anyway, the whole film seems like one act rather than three, which is a negative, but imho defeated by the likeability of the characters.

My wife and I both enjoyed it. Nothing you'll be blown away by, but you could do a lot worse.

I found it interesting that like the movie Kate and Leopold it really explored the concept that today's men... aren't. They are literal manchildren.

For some reason, I was flipping through channels and Family Feud was on. Shit I ain't watched in a bit. Apparently Bernie Mac is hosting it, then I remembered he's dead and it's really Steve Harvey. Anyhow, it was the final round and the very first fucking question is, "We asked 100 men, on a scale of one to ten, how macho are you?" Top answer was "1."

A one? Geeze. I'm at least a two, and I'm far less macho than the average.

I really want to know what 100 men and under what circumstances they were surveyed.
