Power Rangers - "darker, grittier"

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Goddamnit.
If you didn’t hear by now, there’s a new “Power Rangers” movie on the way, and it looks like it’ll be a darker, grittier reboot in line with “Hunger Games” and “Divergent.”

Really? Fucking really? A show aimed at selling toys to pretweens?

Why is that an issue to you?

When kid material gets redone as "darker and grittier" the outcome tends to be shit and serial shit.

Power Rangers are in the same genre as He-Man: Toys designed exclusively to be marketed via TV shows.

They have no soul.

They can do whatever they want to them. No chance of ruining something that was never good.

Here's the plot, I guarantee it: Bad guys get beat up early, they power up and beat down good guys, all looks lost, enter deus ex machina and the good guys win.

Wasn't that the plot for EVERY single episode of their multiple shows?
