The Crow - "Not a remake"

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

The director who spearheaded the movie quit and now the star has quit.

That can't be a good sign.

On a positive note, they claim they're going to stick closer to the source material this time, which is why they're saying it's not a remake.

Yeah, the original didn't have the Crow get killed due to a botched prop job. I hope they leave that part out.

I didn't have an issue with the original movie. I read the comics before it came out and while enjoyed them, they were kind of a meandering story that didn't seem to be heading in any particular direction. Which makes sense when you know the foundation of why the guy wrote them.

But they didn't really lend themselves to any sort of linear storyline for a movie.

I still think of that whenever I hear a crow's call.

They can't keep an actor on the project.

If this movie is any good it'll be a miracle.

He's this generation's Billy Zane, a great actor who inexplicably isn't more popular.

I think Karl Urban is actually better than Billy Zane (Whom I really like) by a magnitude of 10. Urban is just that good in my opinion.

I think both are excellent.

Zane is a better dramatic actor. Urban is a better action actor.

Ever seen Dead Calm? Billy Zane is brilliant in that.

Zane's had some good flicks and some horrible ones, I emphasize the latter. But neither dude gets the props he deserves.

Billy Zane is in this piece of shit that would almost be funny if some people didn't call it truth. He's also been in some entertaining flicks.

Aquaman is the new Crow.

I hope they don't play up his muscles. One of the things that made the original work so well is that Brandon Lee wasn't a monster of a man. He looked like someone that could be overpowered and killed, and then when he was the Crow he still looked capable of what he accomplished.

I don't want to see "Crow Smash!".

The reboot was to be written and directed by Blade and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen director Stephen Norrington, but that never came to pass. Instead, the movie has repeatedly changed writers, directors, and leading actors over the eight years that have passed since then.
That's got "success" written all over it. Aquaman? That's fucking Conan the remake. Bleh.
