Portlandia - Yay! Netflix

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein star in this show about... well, generally, hippies and hipsters in Portland, Oregon. Initially I thought this was a regular show, but I watched the first 2 episodes and it is basically a clump of little short comedy pieces with the 2 actors playing different roles.

If this was only about how awesome Portland is I would probably get tired of it, but I think they mock the hippies more than anything so it is kind of fun. But I might still get tired of it. Time will tell.

Here's the first 3 minutes of the first show, introducing it. "The dream of the 90's is alive in Portland."

I watched the first episode a couple of weeks ago, it was pretty good. That song was the highlight though

Got 5 episodes in and was getting sick of the same tired joke over and over... how weird the hippies and hipsters are.... then on the advice of the internet I skipped ahead to an episode in season 2 about Battlestar Galactica. I think "Moore" is in the title. Watch that one, I actually laughed.

But I think I will close on that episode. Just barely even smiles at the jokes, rarely even any chuckles.

Sounds about right. Whenever there's been a really good scene, I'm guessing someone's already sent me the clip anyway. Watching the series would just be fishing through crap to see those same scenes again.
