The Den - Yay Netflix!

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

A young woman decides to do a research project about people's interactions on the interwebs, specifically a site called "The Den" (Chatroulette). That's when she witnesses what looks like a murder.

I can't go into the story farther than that because it would ruin this film.

I will say that during the third act and the ending, I was thinking, "That brings everything together and this all makes sense. However, that's also just about the biggest logic hole I've ever seen in a movie." I want to discuss it further, but I really want folks who see this to do so "fresh".

I really enjoyed the film. It was something different because I think almost the entire movie is viewed from the perspective of webcams. I thought all the acting was decent enough, and there were only two times when I thought the writing suffered (her first and second interactions with the cops and her final interaction with her mentor...that's not a spoiler you just don't see the lady anymore after that).

The girl in the lead is really hot (next door neighbor type) and I think she does a great job. The majority of her screen time is her acting to the camera with nobody else in the scene.

Biggest disappointment in the film: No boobies. It's the internet and not one chick gets naked. And unfortunately, I mentioned earlier that "The Den" is this movie's Chatroulette, so you do see what you'd expect to see there.

Again, I really enjoyed this film because it was different, there's a hot girl, it was tech based, and I had low expectations since Netflix thought I'd rate it at 1 star.

Just don't let the end put you off the rest of the film. Yeah, it wouldn't work, but the ride was fun.
