Zombieland

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Zombieland starts off following Columbus, a young man far from home when the zombie plague hits. He narrates the film. Columbus soon meets up with Tallahassee and together they head East towards their respective home, and a twinkie.

Their plans get thrown off when they meet up with Wichita and Little Rock, other survivors.

This is a comedy with subtle dramatic under currents regarding the human condition.

The tone is pretty odd, with words appearing on screen, and random cutaways to flashbacks or other more current events. Again, it's comedy. Dark comedy, but comedy.

The storyline isn't deep or even important, but it does provide enough motivation to move the characters along in this post-apocalyptic world, and that's the most important thing.

The film is entertaining and has enough laughs to cancel out all the gore and the fact that everyone is dead.

It also features a fantastic cameo that is brilliantly pulled off.

If you like zombies, this is a really fresh and funny take on the genre. In fact, while it's not going to go down as a true classic of cinema, it may be the best film ever made in the horror-comedy genre.

Absolutely worth a rental.

7 out of 10.

Interesting. I forgot about Shaun.

I'll give the nod to Shaun. Though, you won't be disappointed by Zombieland.

Roommates got the DVD. They both agree that there's at least one fifteen minute segment that I'd (specifically) find more than amusing.

Entertaining, albeit w\ a few rather large plot items that are ... amiss.

Not Shaun, but not bad.

The comedy definitely sets the movie. The horror was "meh" at best, once again requiring people to do stupid things in order to any horror to occur.
