Yes, women = maintenance. Life = maintenance. Relationships = maintenance. I'm just saying not all women are high maintenance.

A significant minority are not.

Hell, or maybe not, and I just got lucky?

I think you got lucky. Why?

Find me another woman who would give up her eyesight for the rest of her life instead of sex.

Have a national poll on that. She'll be in far less than a "significant minority".

...if you don't think so, then you're doing it wrong. (Or you're the one that's high maintenance.)

Completely, utterly, one hundred and eighty degrees wrong. I am well aware that I'm a single dude saying this to a married dude, so don't play that card. Or perhaps I should ask for a proper definition of "maintenance," because that's the word I'm hung up on.

...they set the rules because they are the ones with more needs.

No. Psychologically speaking, you've got just as many. Needs that is. Me and this dude concur.

Such a fine line between "needs" and "requirements."

I need food and water. I require a mate that will cater to my every whim or else I will throw a moody tantrum.

The second one doesn't sound requirementy. It sounds as if they suffer from some type of neurosis/psychosis. In that case, the requirement is to get your damn head in order.

Just pointing out that there's about a thousand miles of difference between a need and a requirement.

You have to be reading a different dictionary than I am.

need
noun
1. a requirement, necessary duty, or obligation: There is no need for you to go there.
2. a lack of something wanted or deemed necessary: to fulfill the needs of the assignment.
3. urgent want, as of something requisite: He has no need of your charity.
4. necessity arising from the circumstances of a situation or case: There is no need to worry.
5. a situation or time of difficulty; exigency: to help a friend in need; to be a friend in need.

requirement
noun
1. that which is required; a thing demanded or obligatory: One of the requirements of the job is accuracy.
2. an act or instance of requiring.
3. a need or necessity: to meet the requirements of daily life.

Perhaps you mean this word or this word when you say "requirement." To quote the great philosopher Jules Winnfield:
English, motherfucker! Do you speak it?

Me thinks Gordo is mistaking "require" with "desire."
GORDON wrote:I require a mate that will cater to my every whim or else I will throw a moody tantrum.

Yeah, that sort of mate is required (needed) to avoid a tantrum, but the mate is desired part of your life, not a required part of your life. You won't die if you don't find a mate to cater to your every whim.

(By mate we're talking about a sexy cabana boy, right?)

I mistake nothing, it is women who say these things and don't know the difference, which is the entire derail this thread went on.

You assholes.
