Call me a cynic, but people buying each other over-priced coffee is... worthless.

I mean, you're not really doing something nice for someone, only the first person did.

You have a point, but it's still cool.

You know who sucks though? Me.

I've had this sort of thing happen to me twice, and I still haven't paid it forward. I think I'll remedy that soon.

I bought a random person a pizza on Reddit a few weeks ago.

I went to the Random Acts of Pizza forum, but 99% of those people are pathetic. so I went to normal forums and found someone. Rather than give someone imaginary gold, I gave them pizza.

Dude deliberately ends Pay It Forward
but I think if you really want to help, find someone that obviously needs help, like the homeless,” Schorsch said.

Seriously.

This guy is kind of funny.

Good point, but at the same time, you're making it sound like someone buying a stranger a cup of coffee is evil. You must work in politics.

Like being forced into a socialized medical program?

I do completely agree that these "chains" probably should go away. I love the concept of paying for the person behind you, but by no means should they feel obligated to do the same.

Yeah, if the Starbucks employees would quit asking if they want to continue it, then the whole thing would become less annoying. Let it happen or not organically.
