I'd say the far more troubling aspects of hookahs is their association with hipster douchebags and bad jazz or sitar music.

By major, I mean: NY, LA, Chicago, Miami, and maybe Seattle.

There's a handful of hookah bars in Houston. And all the head shops have hookahs for sale.
Last time I tried to find a place to buy cigarettes, I had to try 12 "smoke shops" that were actually head shops that didn't sell cigarettes before I found the single tobacco store.
