That was a substantial "fuck you" from the network. Took it a bit too far, though. He always looked comparatively better to Leno.

I guarantee something like that occurs in skit form. It'll be Letterman's parting shot at Leno.

He's a nice and mostly quiet guy. A bit liberal, but not offensively so.

He couldn't even testify in front of Congress without being in some sort of character a few months ago. If I recall, he wasn't finding his audience (congress) nearly as tolerant of his work as everyone else.
