I actually think Two and a Half Men is one of the best on today.
I don't think I've ever seen a kid that was written into a sit-com as well as Jake. He's actually a normal boy.

Two and a Half Men is comparable to Family Guy as a comedy as much as 7th Heaven is comparable to The Shield as a drama.

I think it's because I mostly prefer comedy that mirrors real life more.
Even South Park deals with real attitudes taken to extremes.
Family Guy is mostly goofy. Funny, but goofy.
