I threw my iPhone 5S on the floor. Then down stairs. Then into a wall. (That all really happened this weekend.)

Know why? It sucks.

I have to carry one because they're popular with my sales staff, but the Windows phones have gained a lot of traction here.

Windows phone are far superior except for the apps. Apps on my phone are important because I want to be entertained while I shit.

I recently got rid of my smart phone. Have an old school flip now with talk and text only. Watching families and couples sit at the table at dinner in a restaurant and everyone glued to the little touch screen was getting on my nerves. I decided it's better to experience life. Even the boring bits.

That isn't the technology's fault. I feel the same about those families. I've seen several times where the ENTIRE family each has their own screen.

We do not allow screens/phones at meals.

We figure we'll have 24-48 hours before things go completely to hell. You just need to have an eye open for when the clock starts on that timer. And it doesn't matter what color you are. If you're in a major population center, you want to be somewhere else when the EBT cards don't get reloaded.

I haven't shared this thought with anyone, but I figure that is the best reason for us small town/country folk to have plenty of ammo. Not for our neighbors, not for the biker gangs, but because those thousands and millions of assholes in the nearby cities are going to start wandering the countryside after they miss a few meals.

Initially I suspect you're right. You'll have some of the people in the city heading into the country areas. Some won't have a plan. You have to figure some of them will be unprepared and willing to do anything to try to help save their families. And some of these people in the country will help them to their own detriment.

The really bad element will stay in the city until there's nothing left to loot or rape. Then they'll move out.

The normalcy bias will kill a lot of folks.
