Frodo is a serial killer.
Rented this based on strong positive word from various sources.
It's not terrible, but I wouldn't have called it the best horror film of the year as one place did.
Lots of gore here, and everyone acts admirably. I did have some questions about the script and direction.
First, I didn't understand what kind of message they were trying to give us with Frodo's flashbacks. Seeing them made me think of Rob Zombie's Halloween, and that's not a good thing. Also, serial killers have an MO. They don't abandon that out of vengeance or hurt feelings.
Second, the director didn't seem to know what he wanted to show us. Are we looking through the eyes of the killer or are we not? Why is New York city completely fucking empty?
But, you know I'm a stickler for such things. The film is decent, but I wouldn't watch it in mixed company. The violence and gore might be a bit too much for some.
