Mythbusters

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

So to prove or disprove the Luke/Leia swinging across the chasm scene, they used the fat guy to simulate Luke. So they used a guy who easily weighs 280, if not 300, for a guy who weighs 150-160.

Now that's science! No matter, they still found the swing to be plausible as they did succeed.

Their next bit was simulating the bit where the Ewoks used tree trunks to smash that AT-ST. I had a bit of an issue with them calling the AT-ST's armor "reinforced" because why would it need to be? People are shooting lasers at it...

Still, they used an armored car in it's place, and similar logs (although they didn't travel the same distance as in the movie). The logs absolutely crushed the armored car.

So the movie scene is legit.

Then they went after Han sticking Luke in the Tuntun to keep him warm until he built a shelter. They estimated 2 and a half hours to build the shelter, which I didn't understand. I mean, wouldn't he have some sort of technology to help him build one almost instantly?

Still, in -40C, Luke's core body temp maintained inside their Tuntun proving the scene is legit.

Yeah, with all of them being "plausible" there's little to complain about. It's when they come up "busted" that people start to get their panties in a bunch.

"Unable to disprove" is more palatable to a person who appreciates the scientific method than "Disproved, the end, there is a consensus, the science is settled."

I've seen him in person. He doesn't weight that much. More than Mark Hamill, yeah.

People are shooting lasers at it...

Kind of. Figured they wouldn't send in paper thin armour against dudes whose primary ammo is made of stone and wood.

Watched Jedi with my kid a couple days ago. Was his first watch. I made sure he understood my displeasure at a bunch of stone age teddy bears defeating the strongest military in the galaxy.

That decided to bring crotch-rocket speeder bikes to a heavily forested area. Sounds like they were a bit dense.

Eh. As scout vehicles, they seemed to work really well. That part doesn't really bug me... need to have vision and speed under the forest canopy.

But those fucking teddy bears

I was going to say... of all the issues in the Star Wars trilogy, the biggest ones are untestable/plot issues.
