Yes. 40 minutes through the episode I was wondering when something new would happen.

We learned that Kate was put in a pantry and is now loose with a knife and candy bars.
We are introduced to new people during the last few minutes.

It certainly wasn't my favorite episode.

I think they screwed up with the trailer too. Sure, it's probably common knowledge that there are other crash survivors on the island due to the loose lips of the media, but don't show it in the damn trailer.

Start giving away your secrets, even the poorly kept ones, in the trailers and people will stop watching.

We didn't learn much.

Q: What did one snowman say to the other snowman?
A: Can you smell carrots?

Here's what I gleaned from the episode:
Desmond is expecting someone to arrive.
Desmond has a large supply of non-perishable food.
Desmond assumed that the outside world was in chaos.
Desmond assumed that many of the survivors would be dead from the sickness.
Kate wants me.
Someone must enter the numbers to reset a clock before it counts all the way down.
There at least one female survivor of the flight.
There is a band of people on the island living like savages, who lock people up for some reason. (Could be the "Others," could be other flight 815 survivors)

Boring. Could have squeezed that into 1/2 the hour.

The new people appear to be the other 815 people. How could they be the "others" if the "others" took French woman's kid years ago?

Then what was Ethan? Was he an "Other?"

As for the shark, I posted it all in the spoiler section. The shark had a manufacturer's label, or an ownership tattoo.

I had originally heard that only three people survived in the tail section. Although, I've also heard that the other suvivors are living as primatives.

So basically, I don't know who the hell the people with clubs are. It can't be the "others" since it was implied that they kill everyone. If they do that, why keep hostages?

Even the Morlocks kept humans in cages for a little while. Maybe there where half a dozen other survivors, and they ate one per week.

Maybe they spared her because she was a hottie. Maybe she was one of them, but she tried to help Jin escape? Maybe they just caught her the day before? Who knows?

We don't have enough information to say who they are or aren't.

From what I remember, I think one of the "savages" had torn pants. My guess is that pants wouldn't last long in the tropics when you live like a savage. Therefore I concluded that it is likely that some flight 815 people turned "Lord of the Flies." Or maybe 8 days later they where infected with disease that turned them into killers.

I think it's been confirmed with interviews that the people on the boat where "The Others." However, they had guns and a boat, and fuel. The people who captured the rafters didn't look like they had any of that stuff.

I think he's over analyzing.

There was no swan on the shark's "tattoo." That makes me think it was from a different project.

From The Hanso Foundation's website, there are 7 projects, even though the film said there where 6 stations. (Maybe they added a station later, or the 7th is the entire island?)

Lost was good,

A mini-debate in my head was whether the dude in the hatch and the stadium were physically the same, or metaphysically the same. The stuff in the hatch was clearly ancient (70s? 60s?),

I'd say mid-late 80's.

My friend, who caught the series during the re-runs this summer, says that he thinks every survivor of 815 has killed somebody. That's what links them all. I couldn't argue against it, since there are still too many unknowns.

Watching the last episode of season 1, when they are all boarding the plane, it occured to me... every single main character was "lost" in their own lives at the time of the flight. They had no idea where their lives were going, mainly in a figurative sense.

I want to know what happened to Jack's wife.

1. I think kate is the most psychotic character out there.

2. I knew immediately that when the girl got thrown into the pit, she was a spy. I know the tactic and it's the only thing that made sense.

3. I figured the "others," including Ethan, had clothes because a bunch of suitcases full of them had fallen out of the sky recently.

And now for some less credible stuff I stepped in...

Assign each letter of the alphabet a number so that 1 is A, 2 is B, etc. up to 26 for Z. Then wrap back to the beginning so that 27 is A again, 28 is B, 29 is C, and so on.

4: The 4th letter in the alphabet is D
8: The 8th letter in the alphabet is H
15: If you add 4 + 8 + 15, you get 27 which wraps back to A.
16: 4 + 8 + 15 = 27, and 4 + 8 + 15 + 16 = 43. 27 + 43 = 70 which gives you a R.
23: 16 + 23 = 39, which is M.
42: 4 + 8 + 15 + 16 + 23 = 66, and 23 + 42 = 65. 65 + 66 = 131 which is an A.
