Notorious Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger was sentenced today to two life sentences in prison plus five years by a federal judge who cited the lives Bulger wrecked as he rampaged for decades through the city’s underworld under the protection of corrupt FBI agents.
Whitey wins. He got away with this shit for decades. You know what 2 life sentences mean to someone who's 84?

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the verdict:
“From the victims’ standpoint, it’s got to be disappointing that the judge didn’t make any significant reference to the FBI’s complicity.”
The FBI protected Whitey from prosecution and investigation while he was busy having people killed. Conveniently, Whitey provides a scapegoat. He got away with this because he was an informant during that time. Awesome legal system this country has.
