This has been making the rounds on Spike lately. Yet another question:
Right before Riddick gets to the escape shuttle, he's got a choice of dragging a lot of weight (power cells) by himself or with help. He elects to drag it himself after sealing the others in the cave. Why?
At worst, he could ice them all at will in the shuttle and toss their corpses to the soil. He's already put himself in mortal danger for Jack. The way has to be clear if he's going to be lugging all four cells by himself (too lazy to look up the weight they state in the flick), so it's got to be good enough for him plus three mules (Frye, holy man, and Jack). Why shut them up in rock only to go back when Frye pulls a hail mary (which leads to Riddick getting wounded)? Going soft already and thought he wouldn't be able to do it?

So leaving them in a cave isn't killing them?GORDON wrote:I don't think Riddick was ever evil. He never killed anyone who didn't volunteer to be killed. Quite the contrary, in fact.

"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
He tucked them away to be safe, and came back when it was clear. What.
It was already safe and clear if he's inching his way along due to overburdening.
He didn't come back so much as got talked into it. Why risk dragging four power cells yourself and then doubling back? Less effort and a lot safer not putting them in the cave, all four of them survive. Only way it makes sense is if he was planning to leave them and changed his mind.
