That's what he was saying in 2011. But then:

He added that one effect of this prosperity would be that Barack Obama would be able to obtain a third term as President of the United States either directly, although the Twenty-second Amendment sets a two-term limit, or by having his wife get elected.

I bet he sells way more literature and books way more lecture talks than if he predicted something less harsh.
EDIT: Also indicted for fraud.
In 2007, he and his investment firm, then called "Pirate Investor," were ordered by a U.S. District Court to pay $1.5 million in restitution and civil penalties. The court rejected Stansberry’s argument that his speech was protected by the 1st Amendment, stating "Stansberry's conduct undoubtedly involved deliberate fraud, making statements that he knew to be false."
